The college has five subjects: literature, history, philosophy, law, and science. There are also four master's degree programs, which are history of science and technology, Chinese history, master of law, and master of agriculture. There are 116 faculty members, including 18 professors, 9 part-time professors, 37 associate professors, and37 master tutors. The college started enrolling postgraduates in 198 0and has so far trained more than 200 postgraduates.
1. History of Science and Technology
The history of science and technology focuses on agricultural history,based on Lingnan and facing the world. The research field is dividedinto four directions: agronomic history, technological history, science and technology and society, scientific and technological archaeology and heritage protection.
This subject began enrollment in 1980. It is the earliest master's programin China to enroll postgraduates in agricultural history. It hastrained the first postgraduate in agricultural history in China, thefirst to hold the first international academic conference in thefield of Chinese agricultural history, and the earliest founder ofthe “Cultural Revolution”. Historical publication "Agricultural History Research", the first agricultural history unit topublish papers in "Chinese Social Science", etc .; hasundertaken major projects of the National Social Science Fund andmore than 30 national, provincial and ministerial projects, andpublished more than 700 academic papers; Published more than 40 bookssuch as "History of Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology"and "Annotation of Beneficiency Materia Medica"; won the third prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, thefirst prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministryof Agriculture, the second prize of National University Humanitiesand Social Sciences, the second prize of National Book Award. There are more than 20 scientific research awards, such as the highesthonor award in Guangdong social sciences and the first prize inhumanities and social sciences in Guangdong universities. It has aspecial collection of books featuring agricultural historicaldocuments, with a collection of more than 80,000 volumes. It has thelargest collection of ancient agricultural books at home and abroad, and is a key ancient book protection unit in Guangdong Province. 16 international and domestic academic conferences such as "Southern Grassy International Academic Conference" and "Chinese Agricultural History Society 2016 Annual Conference"; invited scholars from the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Japan,South Korea, India, Vietnam, and Thailand, As well as domesticscholars Ge Jianxiong, Li Genpan, Chen Chunsheng and other nearly 100 scholars visited; teachers and students visited the United States, Britain, Japan, South Korea, India, Thailand, Israel and other countries for academic exchanges and visits.

2. Chinese History
Under Chinese History, there are three disciplines: Ancient Chinese History, Modern Chinese History, and Special History. Among them,there are several research fields under the history of ancient China, such as the history of the pre-Qin, the history of Qin, Han, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, the history of the Sui, Tang,Ming, and Qing Dynasties, and the history of ancient rural society. There are four research areas including modern social history andmodern history of Lingnan agricultural ecology; under the specialhistory, there are four research areas: religious history, history of Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges, history of local culture in Lingnan, history of Chinese and foreign crops and cultivation techniques.
The Chinese history degree program and the 40-year history of master’s degree training experience are mutually dependent, resource-sharing, mutual support of researchers, and the integration of the teachingsystem platform. The degree program has formed its own characteristics: first, in Agricultural ecological history, ruralsocial history, and Chinese and foreign agricultural culturalexchange history have their own research traditions and characteristics; second, take advantage of Lingnan ’s uniqueregional advantages in terms of the Maritime Silk Road and culturalexchanges, Lingnan local cultural history, and Lingnan folk history formed its own research team and characteristics; third, in thehistory of rural society, water conservancy history, disaster historyhas formed a more distinctive research results. 3. Master of Law
The LL.M. recruits full-time and part-time LL.M. graduate students. Focusing on the principle of pragmatism, pragmatism, and training forGuangdong and even the whole country, we have strong legal thinkingand practical abilities, and have combined and applied legal talents with agricultural and urbanization legal characteristics.
There are 23 tutors in this discipline, all of whom have senior titles ordoctorate degrees in domestic famous law schools, including 6 professors; all tutors have more than 10 years of legal practice experience, and some are also employed as legal advisors of the provincial government and provincial agricultural and forestry departments. The municipal people's congress legislators, provincial judges and prosecutors select members and other social positions, and employ 32 senior industry mentors from the legal practice department to form a high-standard and capable "dual teacher" team. 4. Master of Agriculture
The direction of rural development is mainly for government departments, institutions, scientific research institutions and socialorganizations to cultivate rural development theories and knowledge that can master disciplines such as sociology, management and development planning, and can use the tools and working methods tocarry out rural development issues. Practical, high-level ruraldevelopment professionals for analysis and response.

5. Chinese Language and Literature
Cultivate systematic professional knowledge of Chinese language and literatureand literary theory, and have creative and professional skills inwriting, oral expression, news editing and editing, creative writing,etc.
There are 28 teachers in this subject, including 6 professors, 14 associate professors, and 24 doctors. In the past ten years, he has undertaken more than 10 national-level scientific research projects and morethan 20 provincial-level and ministerial-level scientific research projects. He has published more than 20 academic monographs and wonmany provincial and ministerial-level outstanding scientific researchachievement awards. In the past two years, students have repeatedly won excellent results in provincial and above competitions, winning more than 20 first prizes, more than 100 second prizes, and more than 150 third prizes.
6. Philosophy
Cultivate a combination of good humanities, solid philosophical professional foundation and theoretical ability, and be able to engage intheoretical writing, public affairs, enterprise management, newsdissemination and other work in colleges, scientific research institutions, party and government organs, press and publication andenterprise management departments Talent.
The research and teaching of this subject has a good development momentum.
