Zhao Lei, PhD of China University of Political Science and Law, Associate Professor of College of Humanities and Law in South China Agricultural University, Adjunct Researcher of China Arbitration Research Institute of China University of Political Science and Law, Sina Internet Law Institute. Professor Zhao was selected as one of the Top Ten Research Scholars (First Session) of the Supreme People’s Court of China (“SPC”), and participated in judicial reform in the office of leading group of the SPC (2015.10-2017.2). During this period, she engaged in drafting, demonstration and explanation of judicial interpretation and document: the SPC’s Opinions on Further Deepening DDR Reforms of the People’s Courts and the SPC’s Provisions on Court-connected Mediation of the People's Courts and so forth. In February 2017, her research report Civil Disputes Procedure for Prevention and Resolution of Social Disputes was awarded as Outstanding Legal Research Achievement Award by the Supreme People's Court.
In research, Professor Zhao has published one personal monograph, co-edited four textbooks and judicial interpretation, written and translated almost 50 academic papers and reports; she mainly participated six national or provincial programs or projects on civil procedure law, evidence law research, diversified dispute resolution mechanisms. In practice, Professor Zhao has been appointed as a mediator of the CCPIT/CCOIC Mediation Center, an arbitrator of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission , and a court-annexed mediator of the Xihu District People’s Court ; she was selected as International JAMS(Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services) Fellowship ( 2017). In the same year, she began ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution)&ODR(Online Dispute Resolution) research work at Gould Negotiation and Mediation Program in Stanford Law School (2017.7-2018.7). Received the Federal Judicial Center fellow, she will go to Washington, D.C. in July for a monographic research on International ADR Mechanism Research ——To Establish Chinese International Belt and Road Dispute Resolution Center .
