Experts from Guangdong ancient books protection center come to Agricultural History Institute for guidance

June12,researcher Lin Rui, Secretary General of Guangdong ancient booksprotection center, deputy researcher Luo Huanhao, deputy secretarygeneral, and researcher Xiao Ling, director of special collectiondepartment of Zhongshan Library, Guangdong Province, came to ChinaInstitute of agricultural history and heritage of our institute toinspect the transformation of special warehouse for agriculturalhistory and ancient books, and directed the application of "theSixth Batch of national precious ancient books list". ProfessorYang Nailiang, Dean of the school of Humanities and law, Professor NiGenjin, director of the Institute of agricultural history, ProfessorWang Fuchang, deputy director of the Institute, and Mr. Yang Liu,special collection office attended the reception.

PresidentYang Nailiang extended a warm welcome to the visit of the provincialexperts on the protection of ancient books. Professor Ni Genjinbriefly introduced the transformation project of the specialwarehouse for ancient books in our institute and the recentapplication of "national list of precious ancient books".Subsequently, the expert group went to the ancient books warehouse tocheck the effect of the transformation and extract the original booksthat declared the list of precious ancient books. Lin Rui and hisparty affirmed the achievements of the transformation of the ancientbooks warehouse in our institute; the experts checked thecorresponding ancient books one by one according to the declaration,judged the value of the version, considered whether the declarationreasons were reliable and sufficient, and put forward suggestions formodification and improvement. This inspection also found some othervaluable ancient books, such as the Ming Dynasty transcriptscollected by Ruan Yuan, a famous scholar in the middle of the QingDynasty, etc. the expert group recommended to apply for the nextbatch of "national list of precious ancient books".
